BETTY MAY WAGNER

 

This award is presented by the United Methodist Women to a member of the Forty Fort United Methodist Church who has exemplified the ideals of Christian womanhood through her unselfish devotion and contribution to her church and community.

 

Betty Mae Wagner lives in Forty Fort and was born on August 27, 1917 . She attended Kingston High School and also Wyoming Seminary School of Business. While growing up she was a member of Dorranceton United Methodist Church . Betty Mae worked as Assistant Cashier for First Eastern Bank at the Dallas Branch. She was married to Derwood Lewis and then to William Wagner. Betty Mae has been a member of Forty Fort church for 61 years.

Betty Mae has been active in the following as a former Volunteer at the Nesbitt Hospital , a past Sunday School Teacher and a past Officer of the Amicitia Class. She is active in the Women's Society, Couples Club and her Bridge Club.

She is a past and present prayer partner and care-giver for many friends and family members. She inspired and mentored many young women to success and active community service. Betty Mae actively seeks to engage others to participate in their church activities and to attend faithfully.

LINDA DEGILLIO

This award is given to a person in honor of their work in the church and in mission outreach.

Linda resides in Kingston with her husband, Fred and has been a member of Forty Fort UMC since February, 1989. Their son, Adam, resides in Brooklyn , NY . She is employed for Pinnacle Health System, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program in Wilkes Barre.

Linda has been a member of the choir since joining the church. She has served as President of Amicitia Class for 16 years. She currently is a member of United Methodist Women as a Social Action Committee person, a member of the Administrative Board and a member on Lay Leadership and Development committee. Linda has also served on and been chairperson of numerous other committees.
